About Wendy
Wendy Kahle is a multidisciplinary artist working primarily in the media of intaglio printmaking, pastel drawing, oil painting and collage.
As a child growing up in Pacific Grove, California, and all through High School, Wendy Kahle always loved making art, and attending an art college was a goal. She was accepted to California College of Arts and Crafts in Oakland, California in 1969.
After transferring to the University of Oregon in Eugene, Oregon, Wendy continued studies in drawing and painting, and discovered a love of printmaking including lithography, etching, screen printing and block printing. After graduating in 1976 with a BA in Fine Arts, she began work as a graphic designer which led to a career in advertising, most recently as Creative Director for The Good Catalog Company in Portland, Oregon. In 2007 she set up her own art studio in Portland and continued to create etchings, monoprints, pastel drawings, and paintings.
Moving with her husband from Portland to Palm Springs, California in 2014, Wendy found new studio space to continue printmaking and painting.
Wendy has taught monoprinting workshops in the Palm Springs area at Coachella Valley Art Center, and Las Palmas Arts.
Wendy’s work has been accepted into juried shows nationally and internationally. This includes The University of Canterbury International Print Exhibition in New Zealand; The Brand Library and Art Center Brand 39 Works on Paper: Finished/Unfinished in California; Los Angeles Printmaking Society 20th National Exhibition in California; Hunterdon Museum of Art, 51st Annual National Print Exhibition in New Jersey; and the Maryland Federation of Art Works on Paper in Maryland.
